Kathy Osterberg-Knapp is the commencement speaker for the Class of 2022 graduates of Florence High School. Kathy learned the value of education at an early age growing up in Aurora, Wisconsin, as the second of six children, and the daughter of Gary and Marie Osterberg, former Superintendent of Elementary Schools for Florence County. Her dedication, hard work, and determination to be a lifelong learner inspired her to join the Army after college and to get her PhD in Business Psychology, which she will complete with high honors this summer. Kathy’s love for challenges, travel and adventure started when she was young, and led her to accomplish a military career as a decorated Army Colonel. Her career was a model of service recognized with superior awards and decorations along with duty assignments from deployments to many foreign countries to work in The White House. As a decorated combat veteran, Kathy brings unique perspectives gained from her years of military experience, and she uses this knowledge to help people grow through the circumstances that come up during life. Kathy is an organizational leadership expert, a college educator, and professional leadership coach who values service, dedication, and strong work ethic. She is a small business owner and is passionate about building organizational effectiveness within businesses and works to inspire people and teams to broaden their approaches for building relationships, and completing goals, tasks and challenges. More than anything else, Kathy is proud to be a local girl, and a fellow graduate of Florence High School. Commencement ceremonies will take place on May 27, 2022 at 7PM in the FHS Gymnasium. The public is invited. In addition, Kathy will provide remarks at the Florence Memorial Day Commemoration at 9AM on May 27th, also located in the FHS Gymnasium. The public is invited.
