Hello and welcome to the Florence Middle/High School web page,

Beginning with the 2016-17 school year our staff has developed a new motto for the Florence County Middle/High School.  That motto is “I can’t, but WE can”.  What does this mean for our staff, students, parents, and community members in regards to being successful in the ABC’s of education (Attendance, Behavior, and Curriculum).

Attendance is the first step in being successful in education or any adventure in life.  One must be present in order to participate and be involved.  As your principal, I can enforce the attendance policies and attempt to make our school community feel welcomed in our building.  Positive behavior leads success in one’s academic performance.  Negative behaviors lead to distractions and disruptions to one’s academic performance.  If one is present and behaving positively, then they will have a better chance at completing the curriculum that is designed for them.  Our belief is the learning is not optional.  This is why students are given opportunities during Homework Lunch and Saturday School to complete assignments after the due date.

Alone, I can’t make students attend school and get involved, make them behave in a positive manner, or complete their assignments.  But together, We can.  So, as we move forward through the 2016-17 school year there will be opportunities for our staff, students,  parents and community members to join together to create a positive culture at the Florence Middle/High School.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Brandon Jerue

7-12 Principal
