The School District of Florence County & The Bobcat Bistro organized by Mrs. Hoiby and partnered with Special Olympics Wisconsin hosted the first Florence Unified Field Day. We are extremely proud and humbled to host an event which allows students who receive special education services to socialize with peers in an unified event through leisure and physical activities. We had Volunteers from Special Olympics Wisconsin, Florence High School National Honor Society, and Florence High School Torpedoes club welcome students from Florence, Niagara, and Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School districts. Thank you to all who participated and volunteered to make this event a huge success. #GoFloCats

It was the final run at Florence Schools for an amazing and dedicated bus driver - John Zoppetti 💚💛. He was greeted with cheers, and hugs, from Florence staff and students. He of course had words of encouragement and praise for all staff, and also enjoyed the last day traditional elementary school sendoff 😊. Logan Burrows was awarded a $1500 scholarship in memory of Betty and Ray Bourassa, given by former FHS student Joe Bourassa for someone from Aurora/Homestead pursuing a degree in the trades or four-year college. Logan is the son of Linda Burrows and Jon Burrows of Fence. During high school Logan has received recognition for his artist talents in Art 3. He plans to attend NWTC in Green Bay to pursue a degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Management. #GoFloCats

Florence County School District is honored to receive scholarship funding for a Florence High School senior with aspirations to continue their post secondary studies in the natural sciences and pursue a degree in fisheries, wildlife, forestry, soils, geology, or environmental studies. In order to qualify for consideration, eligible seniors were required to submit as part of their application an outline of their high school achievements and future plans in their chosen field. This year, the second awarding of the Florence County Land Scholarship in Memory of Robert R. Peterson in the amount of $6,477, will be to FHS senior Elizabeth LaChapelle, who is attending UW-Madison in the fall to pursue a degree in Wildlife Ecology. Elizabeth is the daughter of Meaghan LaChapelle and (stepdad) Chris Haker of Florence. Lizzy has maintained high grades and been on the honor roll all four years of her high school career. She has participated in TORPEDOs, the FHS service organization, for three years where she volunteered in various projects in the community and school.

Congratulations to Kamdan Johnson, Patrick Milan, & Blake Smith for qualifying for the state track finals on June 3rd & 4th in LaCrosse. Kamdan will be competing in the 400 meter run, Patrick in the 200 meter run, & Blake in the 300 meter hurdles & the long jump. #GoFloCats

Two $500 Forever Young Memorial Scholarships are offered in memory of FHS students Paige Raspor and Isabella Burrows, who are remembered for their love of sports and the arts. These scholarships have been awarded to Kiera Sullivan and Elizabeth LaChapelle. #GoFloCats

Two $500 Forever Young Memorial Scholarships are offered in memory of FHS students Paige Raspor and Isabella Burrows, who are remembered for their love of sports and the arts. These scholarships have been awarded to Kiera Sullivan and Elizabeth LaChapelle. Kiera Sullivan is the daughter of Henry Sullivan and Sarah Western of Florence. She is one of the Class of 2022’s co-salutatorians, with a GPA of 3.99. Her favorite subjects are Art and Spanish. Throughout high school, Kiera participated in a variety of activities including: basketball, track and field, cross country, High-Q, National Honor Society, and TORPEDOS. Kiera has earned a variety of Athletic Scholar Awards, was a finalist in a statewide art competition, and was named 1st Team All-Conference during her junior cross country season, Kiera plans on attending Washington University in St. Louis this fall with a major in Architecture. Elizabeth LaChapelle is the daughter of Meaghan LaChapelle and (stepdad) Chris Haker of Florence. Lizzy has maintained high grades and been on the honor roll all four years of her high school career.
