As the school year draws to a close, and summer break beckons, the students of Florence Elementary are proving that distance doesn't diminish our sense of community. This week, our school celebrated an unforgettable end-of-year event symbolizing the strength and interconnectedness of our school family. The tree house event was a resounding success, bringing together students, and staff. It wasn’t just about marking the end of another academic year but celebrating the bonds we’ve built and will continue to nurture, even when we're apart. As we head into summer, it’s important to remember that our connections don’t end with the school year. Whether through playdates, family gatherings, or community events, the spirit of the School District of Florence County will continue to thrive. We encourage everyone to stay in touch, share their summer adventures, and look forward to the exciting new experiences the next school year will bring. Our Florence family is better when we are connected, supporting one another, and celebrating our unique community. The student chain that surrounds our school is a reminder of the strength we gain from each other and the incredible things we can achieve together. So, as you enjoy your summer break, remember: The School District of Florence County isn't just a place—it's a community. Let’s keep our connections strong, our spirits high, and come back in the fall ready for new adventures. Have a fantastic summer, Florence family! 🌳💚 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnCh_HE_Wy4... #FlorenceFamily #BetterTogether #SummerBreak #StayConnected #CommunityStrong #GoFloCats

Florence High School is proud to announce the 2024 Tim Touchett Legacy Scholarship selection. The Tim Touchett Legacy Scholarship was established in 2015, in memory of former FHS graduate Staff Sergeant Tim Touchett who passed away in 2014 after complications from surgery meant to embolize an arteriovenous fistula that ruptured near his brain stem. Money is raised for this scholarship through an annual corn-hole tournament held every summer in Delavan, Wisconsin. Tim embodied what it means to be a servant-leader, and believed that through service to others, one can truly embark on a leadership role to motivate and inspire. His family offers this scholarship in the hope that this spirit will continue on through young people who share his mindset and deep commitment to the service of others. This year the Touchett family has awarded their $1500 scholarship to Joseph Holmstrom. Joey is the son of Rich and Jody Holmstrom of Homestead, WI. Joseph has represented FHS on the football field, earning second team all conference linebacker as a senior and honorable mention as a junior. As part of the 2023 Bobcat State Champion football team, he was recognized as career tackling leader for 8-man football. In the classroom, Joey has earned Academic High Honors while playing three sports in grades 9-11, and maintained a 3.5 GPA. He was awarded SACA Silver Certification for both Programmable Controller Systems 1 and Pneumatic Systems 1. Joey plans to attend NWTC Green Bay to pursue an associate degree in Automation and Engineering Technology.
