Illustrated "Back to School" graphic featuring the words "Back to School" inside a light blue cloud. Surrounding the cloud are colorful school-themed items, including a graduation cap, globe, backpack, ruler, pencils, paint palette, paintbrush, crayon, notebook, diploma, science flask, and rolled paper. Hand-drawn doodles of musical notes, math equations ("1+1=2" and "a+b+c"), and the chemical formula "H₂O" decorate the white background, creating a fun and educational back-to-school theme.
🍎📚 As we get ready to welcome our little Bobcats 🐾 back to school, Florence Elementary is asking for your support in a different way this year!

🥨🍎 Instead of collecting school supplies, we're collecting individually packaged snacks to help ensure our students have access to a quick snack when they need one. If you'd like to help, snack donations can be dropped off at the Florence Elementary Office during regular office hours. 📍

💙 Every donation—big or small—makes a difference and helps support our students. Thank you for supporting Florence Elementary and our amazing Bobcat community! 🐾❤️

🌲 What an Incredible Outdoor Learning Experience! 🌲

In May our students took part in an unforgettable adventure at Trees For Tomorrow Environmental Education Center, where learning came to life beyond the classroom!

Throughout the trip, students:
🌙 Participated in a night hike, discovering the fascinating world of nocturnal wildlife.
🤝 Built teamwork and leadership skills through challenge course activities.
💧 Investigated the health of local lakes by testing water quality and studying aquatic macroinvertebrates.
🌿 Developed field science skills, learning tree identification, recognizing animal signs, and practicing scientific journaling.
🔥 Learned valuable outdoor survival skills.
🪵 Explored forest ecology and the important role trees play in our environment.
🐸 Compared ecosystems through a bog investigation, collecting scientific data and observing unique plant and animal life.

This hands-on experience allowed students to strengthen their understanding of ecology, environmental science, and conservation while creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A huge thank you to our teachers, chaperones, and the staff at Trees For Tomorrow for providing such an engaging and educational experience!

💚 Learning doesn't just happen in the classroom—it happens wherever curiosity takes us!

Attached are some pictures from the events, but you can click here for the full album.

A group of about nine young people participate in an outdoor activity on a grassy field surrounded by dense pine and deciduous trees under a clear blue sky. They stand in a straight line facing right, each leaning out to their left to pose for the camera. Several wear casual sweatshirts, hoodies, jeans, and sneakers. In the background behind the trees, a green vehicle, a dark van, and a small building with a window are visible.
A outdoor educational activity taking place beside a stone-and-wood shelter near a body of water. About a dozen teenagers stand in a semi-circle facing an instructor wearing a red hoodie, who is elevated on a bench against the building's light-colored stone wall. On a nearby bench, plastic storage tubs and supplies are set out. The group is dressed casually in sweatshirts, jackets, jeans, and rain boots. In the background, green grass stretches toward a calm lake bordered by tall pine trees under a cloudy sky.
An outdoor field lesson in a wetland ecosystem. A guide wearing a bright green jacket, a backpack, and a baseball cap holds monitoring equipment while addressing a group of children and teens bundled up in hoodies, beanies, and tall waterproof boots. They are standing on the spongy, reddish-brown vegetation of a bog adjacent to a body of calm, dark water. Dense evergreen trees line the distant shore beneath a dynamic sky filled with white clouds and patches of blue.
A group photo of students gathered outdoors in a clearing next to a brown wooden building. The children are dressed in various colorful hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, and hats suitable for cool weather. In the upper middle of the group, a dark metal bust statue of a man with a hat is integrated seamlessly into the gathering, with several kids posed right around it. The group is arranged in three rough rows—some kneeling in front, some standing in the middle, and others in the back—all posing on grass and fallen leaves near a forest border.
💛💚 Thank You, Florence Community! 💚💛

🍔 One O One Bar & Grill
🌲 Blue Ox Land Management
👮 Chief Deputy Peterson
👮 Deputy Anderson
👮 Deputy Windell
