St. Vincent de Paul is once again offering its Back-to-School Program to help eligible Florence County families prepare for the upcoming school year. Qualified families may receive assistance with:

This summer, several of our students had the opportunity to participate in the Wisconsin Rural Scholars (WiRS) Summer Program at UW–Madison!

The 5-day residential experience gave students the chance to:
🔬 Explore STEM and agricultural career pathways
🏛️ Experience life on the UW–Madison campus and in the residence halls
👩‍🏫 Connect with CALS faculty, staff, and current students
📚 Participate in hands-on academic and career planning
🌎 Learn how the Wisconsin Idea creates opportunities to make a difference in communities across the state

Programs like WiRS help students build confidence, discover new possibilities, and prepare for success after high school. We are proud of our students for taking advantage of this incredible opportunity and investing in their futures!

On Friday, FHS students traveled to Sevilla. They visited the cathedral and the Alcazar (a royal palace that is an example of the Moorish history of Spain.) The students enjoyed a lesson in flamenco dancing before enjoying a show!! They ROCKED the flamenco lessons!

FHS students visited Salamanca on Thursday. The tour included visiting the university and the Old & New Cathedrals. Students had the opportunity to climb the bell tower to enjoy the city’s beautiful view. We ended the day with tapas and a Tuna (musical) show.

FHS students visited the Plaza de Toros in Madrid and learned about the history, tradition and culture of bullfighting. Our next stop was Segovia to see the aquaducts and Alcazar (castle.) The aquaducts in Segovia
