Thank you to Clara McLain for donating $1500 to the Florence High School baseball team. The donation was made in memory of her late husband, Cliff McLain, who played a significant role in creating the "Red" Johnson baseball field. Cliff & Clara have enjoyed watching their children, grandchildren,& great-grandchildren play the great game of baseball on "Red" Johnson field. #GoFloCats

Florence 4th grader and first year wrestler Stephen Mason Jr., accompanied by his family and his Coach Caitlyn Kelley, competed in the WWF Kids Folkstyle State Wrestling Championship in the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI on Friday, 3/24/23. High School Senior Kelley has made many trips to Madison during her wrestling career, but this was her first-time mat-side as Coach Kelley. Congratulations to Stephen Jr. on his remarkable season! He lost his first matches by only one point and then two points which unfortunately kept him off the podium, but he was able to avoid getting pinned all season! That's a huge accomplishment! Congratulations to you both! #GoFloCats

Emma VanDenHeuvel, a fifth grader at Florence Elementary School, recently created a smoothie recipe for a Play 60 contest. She was one of the lucky students selected and will have her recipe in the Play 60 Student Zone App. Emma was also given an exclusive Fuel Up to Play 60 chef's jacket, and lunch container/bag. Emma is pictured in the far left back corner wearing her jacket. The 5th grade loved Emma's recipe and have nicknamed her "Chef Emma". Emma's: Blueberry Mango Explosion Smoothie 1 cup of frozen blueberries 1 1/2 cups of frozen mangoes 1 cup of orange juice 1 1/2 cups of Greek honey yogurt Blend for 30 seconds until it looks smooth. Recipe yields about two 8 ounce servings.

Florence Wrestler Caitlyn Kelley has stepped in for Stephen Mason Jr. by volunteering to coach him for his state competition. Not only is she coaching Mason, but she is going to Madison to be by his side. She is working on getting her coach card so she can coach him and be mat side. Caitlyn, a 2-time state winner, is helping him work toward his dream of being a state champion. Good Luck to you both! BOBCAT PROUD!! #GoFloCats
