Congrats to our amazing students who qualified for Reading Olympics 2025! 📚🎉 Our 5/6th & 7/8th grade teams will represent Florence at Regionals in March! A local competition will decide which 3rd/4th grade team advances. Proud of their hard work and dedication! #GoFloCats
The 30th Great 8 Winter Games was held on Saturday, February 15th in Florence, Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Niagara, and Norway. The area 4th-8th grade students had the opportunity to participate in individual and team sports. It was a wonderful experience for our youth with memories that will last a lifetime.
I would like to thank the Florence County School District for its continued support as well as Christy Larson, superintendent. I would also like to thank the following area sponsor that has helped tremendously in offsetting the cost of providing this positive experience to the youth in our area and have helped make this annual event a huge success: Florence Elementary School PTO.

This week is Wisconsin School Bus Driver Appreciation Week! We are so grateful for our amazing crew of bus drivers who keep our students safe as they transport them to and from school, sporting events, and field trips. Thank you Florence County School District bus drivers: Tim Bomberg, Bill Burke, Doug Burke, Chuck Lindow, Rick Roberts, and David Gaston.
Great 8 Games Opening Ceremony is February 15th, 2025 at 8:30 am in the Kingsford Middle School Gym. Come help us celebrate our Bobcats and all the other Athletes participating in the Great 8 Games. #GoFloCats

Middle School Volleyball begins February 18th. This is open to 6th, 7th & 8th grade girls. Practice begins at 3:30 at the Elementary on February 18th,Pick up 5:15. Students stop by FHS office to pick up the schedules ASAP. Make sure your physical/alternate year cards are on file with Ad Bryan Bomberg.

The Great 8 dodgeball event will be held at Florence High School on Saturday, February 15th. There is a need for individuals that would be willing to help that day. The time would be from about 10-2, but could change depending if we have enough 7th/8th grade dodgeball teams to host those events.
Positions that are needed are a clock worker, and several dodgeball officials that would run the games.
There will be a gift card given to all individuals that help about a month after this event. Lunch will also be provided.
