Emma VanDenHeuvel, a fifth grader at Florence Elementary School, recently created a smoothie recipe for a Play 60 contest. She was one of the lucky students selected and will have her recipe in the Play 60 Student Zone App. Emma was also given an exclusive Fuel Up to Play 60 chef's jacket, and lunch container/bag.
Emma is pictured in the far left back corner wearing her jacket. The 5th grade loved Emma's recipe and have nicknamed her "Chef Emma".
Emma's: Blueberry Mango Explosion Smoothie
1 cup of frozen blueberries
1 1/2 cups of frozen mangoes
1 cup of orange juice
1 1/2 cups of Greek honey yogurt
Blend for 30 seconds until it looks smooth. Recipe yields about two 8 ounce servings.

Florence Youth wrestler Stephen Jr. is in Madison competing. We are very excited for him and his family on this adventure! With assistance from the FHS cheer squad, the elementary school sent him off to his competition by cheering him on! Good Luck Stephen!

Florence Wrestler Caitlyn Kelley has stepped in for Stephen Mason Jr. by volunteering to coach him for his state competition. Not only is she coaching Mason, but she is going to Madison to be by his side. She is working on getting her coach card so she can coach him and be mat side. Caitlyn, a 2-time state winner, is helping him work toward his dream of being a state champion. Good Luck to you both! BOBCAT PROUD!!

Florence Elementary School held literacy night; the Milwaukee Brewers @Brewers donated 2 club-level tickets for the 2023 season to a lucky winner that night. Thank you to the Milwaukee Brewers for positively affecting the lives of the students in Florence County!

Thank you to Florence Human Services for bringing Taes Leavitt with the Big Heart Journey to FES & providing students with a bag & Buddy Bear. Taes shared with our students that it is okay when big feelings come to visit, but we have the power to Feeling Flip.

Elementary Students will attend pep rallies at the MS/HS on Friday, February 24th, and Thursday, March 2nd. Students will be dismissed at 3:15 and loading busses at the High School.
The attached image is of the MS/HS campus. Any student that is a parent pickup those days can be picked up at the west side gym entrance, indicated by the yellow arrow on the image. If you have any questions please contact the Elementary Office.
Florence 5k, 1st & 2nd grade rotated to 6 different classes to have activities in the 100-day celebration. Activities included a snack, exercise, puzzles, and monster creations. Students were grouped with all ages. Students had fun traveling to all the classrooms.
