Florence County Health Department - Health News Update

In the past month, schools in Oneida and Iron County have closed for up to three days due to influenza like symptoms. We want to take every effort to promote good health in all children. One of the most important steps you can take is to monitor your child’s symptoms closely. If you do not have a working thermometer, please consider this investment in your child’s health. The school secretary has a calibrated thermometer which helps determine if a child may return to school after an illness. A child who does not feel well enough to participate in class should stay home not only for their sake, but for the sake of the other students. One of the questions many parents have is when, and when not to send their child to school. Below are some guidelines to help you make that decision. Please note temperature is a determinant to remain or return to school to protect the health of your student and others. Thank you for your cooperation
